TEN YEARS AGO TODAY! THE 30TH ANNUAL WORLD VET MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP

Travis Preston (11) won his second consecutive Over-30 World Vet Championship. It included a powerful come-from-behind victory in the second moto. If you can learn anything from this photo of Travis, it is to look ahead. Travis looks way ahead.

On the other hand, Travis Preston (11) would have had to look behind him to see his competition as he gapped them on the Mt. Saint Helen downhill.

Dane Brian Jorgensen wanted to race the 2013 World Vet, but broke his hand and couldn’t make it. He made the 2014 edition and went 4-7 for 5th overall.

Glen Helen’s famous Talladega first turn is a 180-degree right hand corner that is banked at 45-degrees. It can be done without shutting off, but only by a maniac. This is the second moto start of the Over-30 Pro class. Mike Sleeter (111) leads with Travis Preston (11), Doug Dubach (15), Ryan Morais (116), Gordon Ward (444), Brian Wheeler (12), Brian Jorgensen (8), Tonni Anderson (4) and Shawn Wynne (9)as they  jockey for position.
